Maite R. Ochotorena

The fate of Ana H. Murria
Thriller

Synopsis
San Sebastián, 1956.
Margarita Clarín exerts an iron grip on her three daughters. She is despotic and cruel. Ana has been away from her for two years, safe in Madrid. When her sister writes to her, begging her to return home, her future plans are thrown into turmoil: going back to San Sebastián means falling back into Margarita's clutches. However, Ana can no longer leave her two sisters and her father alone.
A chilling story. Returning and falling in love with a mysterious journalist, returning and confronting the horrific murders plaguing the city while the authorities keep it a secret, and above all, returning and facing Margarita Clarín. Ana may never be the same again.
San Sebastian, a magical city

San Sebastián, the city where I was born, brimming with memories and experiences, a whole life enveloped in the magic that emanates from its streets. People fall in love with it when they visit, and it's no wonder: its fine sandy beaches, the dreamy bay, its Gothic buildings—they all attract attention and capture hearts.
I decided to set this book in my city because it contains much of my own personal story. After all, it's inspired by real people who had a profound impact on me. Of course, I'm not talking about the crimes that fill its pages, but about one of its characters, the most powerful: Margarita Clarín. I've poured into her all the pain and uncertainty that this person's character—I won't mention or reveal who she is here—caused for much of my life, from childhood until I was almost thirty, a lasting impact that has made me who I am. I forgave her a long time ago.
Not everything I recount in this novel is true, nor does what is true necessarily align with the exact facts. It is fiction. However, the emotions of Ana and her sisters are real, and the tense atmosphere they experience with Margarita is authentic. That's why I'm so certain its pages will captivate you. The truth always does.

«Es una historia muy humana y que nos deja varías cosas para reflexionar, pero sobretodo, es una historia bien entrelazada con matices que la hacen, sin duda, digna de ser leída.»

Apdeit
«He pasado miedo realmente leyendo esta novela. Al igual que “Donde habita el miedo”, Ochotorena es capaz de meterte de lleno en su relato para que lo vivas como un espectador en primera fila.»
